Usool al-Sunnah li Imam Ahl al-Sunnah Ahmad ibn Hanbal — أصول السنة لإمام أهل السنة أحمد بن حنبل — with a Manuscript in the Handwriting of Shaykh al-Albani
The text of Usool al-Sunnah (The Foundations of the Sunnah) by Imam Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal (d. 241 AH), transmitted through the narration of Abdoos ibn Malik al-Attar. This is one of the most important and concise texts ever written in establishing the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. The Qadi Abu Ya'la said regarding it: "If one were to travel to China in pursuit of it, it would be little."
In this treatise, Imam Ahmad outlines the foundational principles of the Sunnah — including adherence to what the Companions were upon, abandonment of bid'ah, avoidance of sitting with the people of desires, leaving off argumentation and disputation in the religion, the belief that the Quran is the uncreated speech of Allah, affirmation of the seeing of Allah on the Day of Judgment, that Iman is speech and action which increases and decreases, the virtue of the Companions in their correct order, and obedience to the rulers.
What distinguishes this edition is the appendix containing a handwritten manuscript copy (nuskhah bi-khatt) of the text in the handwriting of the Muhaddith Shaykh Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani — a unique and valuable addition for students of knowledge and collectors of scholarly manuscripts. Arabic.
