What is Salafiyyah?
What is Salafiyyah?
Salafiyyah refers to the methodology of Islam based on following the Qur’an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding and practice of the Salaf as-Sālih—the earliest generations of Muslims: the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), his Companions, and the two generations that followed them. It emphasizes pure monotheism (tawheed), adherence to the Sunnah, and distancing oneself from innovations in religion (bid‘ah).
Salafiyyah is not a new sect or group, but rather the original path of Islam, aiming to revive and preserve the authentic teachings of the Prophet (ﷺ) without alteration or distortion.
Those who follow Salafiyyah call to:
- Worshiping Allah alone without partners.
- Following the Sunnah precisely.
- Avoiding religious innovations and partisan divisions.
- Upholding sound creed (‘aqeedah) and righteous action.
