Sharh al-Kafiyah al-Shafiyah (the Nooniyyah of Ibn al-Qayyim) is Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen's explanation of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah's (may Allah have mercy on him, d. 751 AH) monumental poem, known as Al-Kafiyah al-Shafiyah fi al-Intisar lil-Firqah al-Najiyah (The Sufficient and Healing Poem in Support of the Saved Sect). This great poem addresses the 'aqeedah of the saved sect (Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah) and refutes the misguided factions that deviate from it.

Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen delivered this explanation in several sessions as part of his scholarly lessons for students at his mosque in 'Unayzah. His first recorded audio explanations, delivered between 1408 and 1412 AH, covered the entire text of the poem. He later provided a more detailed explanation, recorded between 1419 AH and his passing in 1421 AH.

In Dhu al-Hijjah of 1391 AH, Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen began writing his own scholarly reading of this poem — which he described on every occasion as "magnificent" — handwriting selections of its verses and organizing them into various chapters. These handwritten notes have been added at the end of this book for the benefit of all readers.
