In it, Allah declares war on whoever shows enmity to His allies (awliya'), and describes how a servant draws closer to Him — first through the obligatory deeds, then through the voluntary ones — until Allah loves him.

Shaykh 'Abdul 'Aziz ar-Rajihi explains the hadith phrase by phrase: who the awliya' of Allah truly are according to the Qur'an and Sunnah, the priority of the obligations over voluntary acts, the meaning of Allah's love for His servant, and the protection and answered supplication promised to him.
